Purchasing aircraft parts and services can sometimes be confusing. Here are some questions to ask that will make your job easier:

• What traceability does the company provide with the aircraft part?
• What warranty or guarantee will the company provide with the part? Does the warranty cover the complete component or only a partial component?
• Does the price of electrical equipment or avionics include connectors and/or the mounting brackets? If not, what will the extras cost if you need them?
• When you're buying a part that the company says can be overhauled economically, how much money will you have to invest in repairs? As an example, consider the pricing of aircraft engine assemblies.
• What's the name of the service person so you can follow up if necessary?
• When will the service person get in touch with you regarding the parts search?
• If the company doesn't have the part you need, will someone help you find it? Is there a fee for this service?
